Persian Khamseh rugs have strong similarities to the fabrics of Qashqai nomads, who share their focus on saturated colors and intricate and stylized geometric patterns. Khamseh was a nineteenth-century confederation of tribes in southern Persia, whose carpets are linked in style and geographical origins to the Qashqai and Afshar traditions.
