KASHAN
1950s, Northern Persia origin, wool fleece on cotton weave. The traditional decoration re-proposes the medallion pattern: in the center of the field there is a round or elongated rose window, polylobed and enriched by two pendants. The cantonals have the gracefully curved shape typical of the gab khorani system (the cover of the Koran often in embossed leather and artistically adorned with gems and sheets of precious materials, these objects are supposed to have inspired the decoration of the medallion carpets which therefore are often referred to with the same term) The background has a dense floral decoration, with curved stems, rosettes and palmettes.
